Lithuania’s Western Shipyard Builds New Floating Dock Under US$43 Million Contract
On 26 October, Invest Lithuania reported that Western Shipyard Group was expanding its ship-repair capacity in Klaipėda through construction of a new floating dock. The project follows a US$43 million contract with Türkiye’s Hat-San Shipyard announced in March 2026. The 200-metre dock, with a lifting capacity of 15,000 tonnes, is expected to enable at least 10% more annual ship repairs when operational in autumn 2027. Shipbuilders, marine-engineering firms and suppliers can explore predictive maintenance, equipment monitoring and supply-chain analytics, while HPC can support industrial simulations.
